You're 5 Steps Away From Flawless Skin

Helloooo my Beauties!

If you're anything like me then I know you're always on a mission to keep your skin as flawless as possible. To achieve this takes dedication, knowledge about your own skin as well as product knowledge. Which means reading and researching for the best products possible. Some Beauties prefer the natural way.....meaning all natural and organic products. While some Beauties don't care as along as if get's the job done and their skin is on fleek.....BTW...is the word "fleek" still a thing :)

I'm also going to do an honorable mention of eating healthy, exercising and and keeping your hormones balanced which is another topic all together. So now that we have the pleasantries out of the way let's get into the good stuff!

  1. Cleanse

If you’ve ever wondered how to wash your face the right way, you’re not alone. I mean, how hard could it be? Just splash some water on your face, rub in a little cleanser, and rinse, right? Well, yes, it can be that simple for some people. But figuring out how to properly wash your face for your specific skin takes a little more work than that.

But it’s also worth the effort to get it right. Cleansing your face washes away dirt, dead skin cells, makeup, and anything else that might clog your pores or cause a general dullness. And, depending on the type of cleanser you use, it could also help treat specific skin conditions, like acne. “Proper facial cleansing prevents acne breakouts, can improve skin health, and may even reduce skin inflammation.

We recommend using our "fresh" African black soap Our African Black Soap is imported from Ghana Africa and is freshly handmade for every batch.  The fluffy mass that rises out of the pots once the soap has fully cooked is the magic that this soap is made out of. The African Queens then collect the mass and form them into softball like shapes. The soap lathers well and will become darker and harder once water is introduced. This gem is great for hyper-pigmentation and acne. If neither of these are your issue and you're blessed with an even and smooth skin tone, then it's just a great natural soap to have to maintain your gorgeous completion. This soap is milder than the traditional black soap is it's not as harsh on the skin.

2. Exfoliate

Now it's time to exfoliate which is my absolute favorite step in my skin care routine. It makes me feel like I'm buffing out all of that bad oil and impurities from the air that's clogging up my pores. It's me against the enemy at this point....oh yeah it's on Beauties! Buttttt....be careful not to over exfoliate. I did once before and I was walking around looking like a plastic mannequin girl. I say at least twice a week until you get to know your skin and what it can handle. Proper exfoliation removes the barrier of dead skin cells clogging the skin and uncovers fresh new cells below. This opens the way for moisturizing products to penetrate more deeply into the skin, which makes them more effective. In short, a regular exfoliating routine will leave your skin looking fresh and healthy.

Our recommendation is using our "glossy" facial and body scrub. Boo listen! It’s very important to get rid of that dead skin on your face and body if you want that natural glow to come shining through. If this is what you want then “glossy” is your girl. Glossy is a 100% natural and organic brown sugar exfoliate infused with herbal and essential oil blend that will have your face and body looking glossy-lishious. FYI: WILL NOT CLOG YOUR PORES. And to top it off you get a double purpose product for the price of one! You CAN NOT beat that if you tried :)

3. Tone

Ok....so some people feel like toning is not important but I highly disagree! In my opinion toning is that last secret weapon to wiping or spraying away that last little bit of left over residue in your pores. Not to mention helping with tightening your pores, calming and balancing your skin and helping your moisturizer and sunscreen (yes black people need to use sunscreen) to penetrate your skin. Toners are also effective at balancing the skin's pH level, which can help your skin to be less prone to oiliness and infection, and creating a more vibrant and smoother appearance.

Recommendation..."the refresher" new and improved formula. Now available for your hair and face. Use this liquid gold to refresh and replenish your crown. It also stabilizes your hair pH balance and aids with repairing damaged hair. "the refresher" also acts as an anti-inflammatory and because it's a natural antiseptic and antioxidant, it reduces dandruff, gets rid of acne, controls excess oil, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. If you are a curly, coily, kinky hair beauty you need more moisture daily to keep your hair from becoming dry and brittle. If you are a straight and wavy hair beauty you will need this as well to maintain healthy hair and scalp, especially in the summer months to come.

4. Moisturize

Yassssss...so now that you have taken out the dirt and crud that was in your pores. Now it's time to restore with moisture. Yes, black don't crack but we still have to give it a hand to stay soft and supple :). Moisturizing Reduces Skin Problems – Moisturizing everyday can reduce the chance of developing extreme dryness or oiliness. Both extremes are harmful for skin and cause common skin conditions like acne. Moisturizing is an important step to maintain your skin's healthy cells and to protect it from irritation. ... When your skin is dry and irritated, it actually causes breakouts and acne. By moisturizing your skin, you can reduce your chances of any skin problems arising.

It's also important to use a sunscreen in its most crucial role, sunscreen protects your skin from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays, which come in two forms – UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are most commonly associated with skin aging; these beams cause fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots that make skin look prematurely older. It also act as a shield from the free radicals in the air that clog pores and causes acne.

Recommendation time!! "silky" face moisturizer. Queennnn! After you have washed your beautiful face with “fresh”, exfoliated with “glossy”, and toned with “the refresher”. Now it’s time to put the icing on the cake with “silky” that will have your face feeling and looking silky smooth. FYI: WILL NOT CLOG YOUR PORES. Also, just to let you know...we are currently working on more skin care and beauty products so stay tuned Boo!

5. Be Patient

Patience has never been my strong suit buttt.....in my skin journey I have learned it. I have been fighting acne since puberty and I'm still in the fight at 47. I never understood why my skin was breaking out so bad especially when it was time for my cycle to come. I tried every skin care product and skin care system I could find. It would work for awhile and then here come the acne again. Why Lord whyyyyy! Well, after my breast cancer journey I learned that my body produced a crazy amount of estrogen. Well, the extra estrogen that my body produced didn't have anywhere to go. I mean, my liver could only flush out so much at a time so it stayed in my body and developed into breast cancer as well as caused breakouts because of the access oil that was produced in my skin. I have since learned how to balance my hormones naturally and have handcrafted a skin care line that will get your face all the way together Beauty.

I hope that this blog will help someone on their skin care journey. Start researching about your body first and then look for products to accommodate. We at Natural Roots LLC is always here to help you along your journey....no matter what that journey is. And as always remember to "Embrace The Real You!"
